I was in Samui for the last 2 weeks of February 2009 and had a grand time – I always do! The grooviest part of the year is between late May until November (the monsoon season). When I was there, it rained down a a couple of times, but then speedily dried up after. Many people visit in the high season (November to March) because of good temperatures, red skies and low rainfall. As a lead tourism is at its highest and everything can be a little more pricy. Hotels and tours can be quite jammed and some tourist hot spots are not quite so laid back.
Been to Koh Samui a couple of times now, first time was in April 2002, then back at Christmas 2010. What a awesome holiday place! It supplies for everyone: if your looking for friendly Thai people there is masses of them,if your looking for solid thai food there is quite a little and night life is brilliant. If you want a low-cost holiday, you can have it – if you want an costly holiday, you can have it also. My mom is totally in love with the place and has just bought into a bar over there. My children love it too. What a great place to celebrate Songkran!
