Golf in Spain is a totally different kettle of fish from the game in England. Here in Spain, you can forget about having to stand on ceremony so much. You are still expected to observe the usual rules that apply universally on golf courses, but things just feel a little more relaxed. Also, the standard of the courses is stunning. The money spend on maintenance far outstrips that of English clubs. It would be easy to assume that the courses could be parched or dry, but in actual fact they are the exact opposite. Because they generally do not have hose pipe bans in Spain, they are free to use sprinkler systems all through the night if they wish, and the cost of maintenance out there is such that it is easier for them to appoint several groundsmen than it would be in England.

Spain is a wonderful country to holiday in, and there is always something to do for everyone. Many people are contented to just enjoy the sea and the beaches, and the wonderful climate, but while you are away from the links, you should consider taking a trip to inland Spain, where many hidden gems can be found. The inland area of the Costa Del Sol is particularly beautiful, and well worth a visit.
